The Zaanse Schans

The Zaanse Schans is situated just north of Amsterdam. It is a highly photogenic village on the banks of the river Zaan. Besides green and white wooden houses and windmills you will be able to admire the beautiful landscape that is so typical of the province of Noord-Holland.
There is plenty to see and to do at this historic and typically Dutch location: several museums to visit and old traditional crafts such as cheese making at Willig and clog making at Kooijman. Attractive little shopping streets come to life with green painted wooden houses. The Zaanse Schans is Holland at its best.
